Kath studied Economics and Social Studies
(including Accounting) at Manchester University. She then
completed a training contract with one of the "Big Eight"
firms of accountants, Ernst and Young in Liverpool, qualifying
as a Chartered Accountant in July 1991.
In August 1992 she joined her father, Ken
Farr at K. A. Farr and Co, becoming a partner in April 1994.
In May 1996 she successfully qualified to become a Member
of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, this being a very
highly regarded tax specialist qualification.
Kath is married with 2 children and her hobbies
include swimming and athletics. In fact she is an ex
international discus thrower, having represented England in
the Commonwealth Games in 1986 and Great Britain in the Europa
Cup in Prague in 1987!
